Another Busy June
It's been almost two weeks since I last blogged. A few unfortunate things happened at work which got many of us shocked, but I shall not dwell on them.
School's out. The June holiday is finally here. And I'll be busy packing all my stuffs at work and at home. Many of my colleagues' tables are almost cleared. I managed to pack everything into boxes and bags except for a few items here and there. I guess we all can't wait to move our things into the brand new staffroom. :)
Just last week, right after staff meeting, some of us went to take a look at it. Every teacher has been given a huge metal cupboard to store our teaching materials! Naturally, all the cupboards eat into the walking space. So even though the staffroom is bigger than before, it's pretty squeezy between our workstations. I'm just glad I've got a good place. :)
At the same time, I'm also busy preparing for my studies. There are so many things to do! Right now, I'm still trying to settle my accommodation. I hope everything will be done by this coming week, so that I can start packing.
Well, I'll still be at work on the first two days of Term 3. And then, I'll be off! :D
I can feel that it's going to be another very busy holiday even though I'm not involved in the remedial for the graduating classes.

Next Movie To Watch
I decided to take a mini-break from all my marking to surf on this next movie I want to watch:

I'm no Trekkie fan, but I've seen enough to be somewhat familiar with the idiosyncrasies of some of the main characters. Hopefully, I can watch this soon. :)

MO - X-Men - Marking - Music
I had a very fruitful time at Mandarin Oriental last Thursday and Friday. The staff were all very warm and hospitable to us. It was first-hand learning what goes behind the scenes in a luxury hotel. I must say I am truly impressed. :) Unfortunately, I can't post any photos up here. They're strictly for educational purposes.
Actually, as a guest myself a couple of years back, I had the opportunity of experiencing their wonderful service. I'd left my VCD in the player upon checking-out. By the time I found out, it was a few days later. And it was one of my favourite movies! I called up the hotel and they were very patient with me, assuring me they would find the VCD. They did and I went down to collect it. The staff was very professional the whole time. There was not a single word of complaint about why I was making a mountain out of a molehill over a VCD. Thanks to Mandarin Oriental, I'm still able to watch the movie today. :D
-----
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was explosive! It was so action-packed that I forgot about my exhaustion the whole time I was watching it. I'm so tempted to watch the first three X-Men movies again. Heh.
-----
I have 160 essays to mark and the deadline is this Friday. I'm only 15% done. SIGH.

Oh, here's a Korean song I enjoy...

Too Much Paper Work (yes, marking included)
I have so much administrative crap to settle that I feel a little dizzy. This is just proof that I can't do jobs that are administrative in nature for nuts!
I finally completed setting all the examination papers. Well, I had to - since examination has started officially today. -_- But it sure was an absolute nightmare to set the EBS Paper 1 for my graduating pupils. It's a new subject and I had no specimen papers to refer to. The secondary three papers from all the secondary schools last year weren't exactly helpful because they only tested certain chapters in the textbook. Speaking of which, THANK GOD FOR TEXTBOOKS! The textbook was my only resource, so how difficult can the paper be right? Ha... we shall see. ;p
The other administrative matters are issues pertaining to my studies. There are so many things to prepare for! I feel rather overwhelmed. My counsellor hasn't been exactly helpful, so I've been doing a lot of things myself. I guess it's good that it's happening now when I still have parents and friends to consult. Come July 2009, it's going to be total independence! I can't wait! I admit, I'm terribly excited! Who wouldn't? Ha!
Before that though, I have about 160 essay scripts to plough through by 15 May (horror of horrors, it's NEXT FRIDAY!) and I realised this morning, while checking my organiser, I have a 2-full-day course to attend for the rest of this week, salsa on Sunday, signing of bond at MOE HQ and x-ray at AMK on Monday, and one course and several meetings the whole of next week. How in the world am I going to finish marking 160 essays?!
Then, there's MH's church wedding on 16 May. Everyone will look fresh and good - except me! ARGH!
Yes, that's why I'm meeting C to work tonight. I hope to mark 25 scripts tonight. If my calculations are right, I should take about 4 hours to mark 25 scripts. That's about 10 minutes per script. Gosh, I think I will only get to sleep at 1 am tonight. x(
Hm, right, I should start marking a few scripts now. I'll blog again another time.
Take care, people.

Hated
After dinner, I came back to my room only to find not one but two small lizards on the ceiling of my room. Instead of freaking out like how I usually do, I felt a sudden surge of anger. I stomped out of my room and promptly returned with two bottles of insecticide.
I started spraying the insecticide at them. One fell behind my wardrobe (ARGH!!!) while the other fell behind my book shelf (DOUBLE ARGH!!!!!!). As they were out of sight, there was nothing else I could do but continue spraying more insecticide behind the wardrobe and book shelf. I have absolutely no idea if they're dead or alive at this point. I hope the insecticide does its job. :p
I find lizards terribly annoying because they are like pigeons, leaving their poo everywhere. I cannot imagine waking up one morning to see lizard poo on my precious MacBook! UGH!
Darn, I just realise something. My wardrobe isn't airtight, so my clothes will reek of insecticide. :( *TRIPLE ARGH!!!!!!!!!*
I HATE LIZARDS!!!
