Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

The Table Lamp
I have a bad feeling the table lamp is going to explode. It's been making some kind of a buzzing sound the minute I switched it on. My mom says it's just warming up and the sound will go away after a while.
I don't think so. The buzzing sounds dangerously frightening.
How long does 'a while' take? It's been almost ten minutes.
Sigh. Just don't explode on me. Please.
I think I should get a new table lamp once my ankle heals.

Footy Issues: Corn-On-Soles
Now that my ankle's injured and I can't walk around much, I've begun to examine the soles of my feet. Oh my goodness... I never realised I have such badly hardened skin on the soles! No wonder my feet hurt so much the past few weeks. It might be one other reason why I'd fallen and injured my ankle. Bah.
Oh well, looks like I'll have to buy a new tube of foot scrub. I discovered I hadn't been using the foot scrub I bought -years- ago and fungus was flourishing at the mouth of the tube. YEUCK! Anyway, I've thrown the whole tube away. I'll buy the new tube once I can start walking properly.
Ah, it's such a hassle to even move to the toilet now. -_-
Oh yeah, I need to buy cream too. For my feet. Plus some comfortable soft slips to cushion my feet when I wear my shoes. I really need to start giving better treatment to my feet.
Alright, I'm going back to mark. 'Nuff said about footy issues. ;p

Inconveniences Of A Twisted Ankle
Alright, I fell. And twisted my right ankle. How fortunate can I be?
Well, let's just say it's a blessing in disguise. I realised some very disturbing stuffs. No, they're not really nice to talk about, so I'd rather not say. But I guess this incident has left me very deeply disappointed and subsequently cold.
How did I fall? Well, I'll attribute it to extreme exhaustion. Because of that, I was not careful when I stepped down from the curb. I felt my ankle give way and saw myself falling. Then the pain came. I'd never felt more pathetic and desperate for help.
Anyway, I got home by cab and some kind souls offered me help - God bless them.
Oh, I have to go now. My dad is sending me to A&E. Yup, how to go to work to teach when I can't even walk properly? And I seriously need rest. I've only been surviving on 2-3 hours of sleep EVERYDAY. My head hurts so much that the pain is kinda numb now.
Sorry, 4B. I can't do the ACES dance with you.

I'm Tired Of...
I'm tired of unpacking stuffs for the past 3 weeks.
I'm tired of spending so much money on the new home.
I'm tired of being unappreciated.
I'm tired of being ignored.
I'm tired of having no wireless network to use.
I'm tired of getting disconnected from the Internet repeatedly.
I'm tired of my laptop restarting on its own like it's possessed.
I'm tired of doing work, work and more work.
I'm tired of being criticized at.
I'm tired of being patronized by people who don't mean what they say.
I'm tired of missing my best friends.
I'm tired of having no table and chair in my new room.
I'm tired of seeing all the ugly boxes everywhere.
I'm tired of waiting all the time.
I'm tired of trying to make things work.
I'm tired of not being able to do what I want when I like.
I'm tired of being tired.

Where I Belong 属于 - Tanya Chua 蔡健雅
Morning comes around and I
Can't wait to see my sunny island
In its glorious greenery
Whether rain or shine, it's still beautiful
Bright lights shine on the streets at night
Guiding me closer to home
To a place where I'll be safe and warm
Where I belong
Friends and families by my side
Seeing me through as I grow and learn
Everyday's experience
Bitter, sweet or sour, they are still wonderful
As they become precious memories
They'll be kept close to my heart
And no matter where I am I will always know
Where I belong
Where I belong
WHere I keep my heart and soul
Where dreams come true for us
Where we walk together hand in hand
Towards a future so bright
Where I belong
Where I keep my heart and soul
Where we are one big family
I want the whole world to know
I want to shout it out loud
That this is where I know I belong

This was 2001's National Day Theme. It's my second favourite - after Kit Chan's Home. I'm not too familiar with this year's theme - I've only heard it once. Haha.
Anyway, here's to you, Singapore! Happy 41st Birthday! CHEERS!

Chaotic
Life is utterly chaotic now. There are too many things going on now and I feel that I'm sinking into quicksand.
First, there's the house-moving. We moved to our new place more than a week ago. Until now, we're still moving things from the old place to the new one. Actually, my parents are the ones doing that - not so much of my brother and I. We've been shopping for furniture and we finally made some orders at Ikea yesterday. So, our new home right now - if you haven't realised it already - is like a mini warehouse with huge boxes stacked up all over. Thankfully, we ordered our new mattresses right after we moved and now we have comfortable beds to sleep on after an exhausting day.
I don't wish to say why everything is being done so last minute because it's something not very pleasant. All I can say is, somehow things never go smoothly when it involves the four of us. Never. I don't know why. Maybe everyone (yes, including me) is too pig-headed. HAH.
Next, there's work. There are many things going on at work. There's the school's 50th Anniversary, involving some 200 over student performers and several teachers. The teachers have been busy collecting money and order forms from the pupils while the performers have been busy polishing their acts. National Day is also just around the corner. So we've been having several practices and rehearsals at school for the pupils and teachers.
And of course, we still have our daily duties to cope with - preparing for lessons and teaching the classes under our charge. I must admit, I've not been able to teach very effectively for the past few weeks. The pupils behaviour doesn't make it easier either. I go into class, hoping to complete something with the pupils by the end of the lesson, but I go in and end up reprimanding them instead.
It's very obvious. Just look at my work table and you know I'm not coping. The English O level Oral examination is next on the list. I don't have the luxury of seeing my pupils at least 3 times for practice this year - which I managed to with 5B last year.
Finally, there's driving. I've been attending lessons consistently. You can say it's my personal goal for 2006 - to pass my driving test in November. I don't think it's fair for anyone to say it's not important and that I should not spend time and money on it. It's a practical skill to invest in. I'm just sorry I didn't finish learning it sooner. Probably would have one less thing to worry about now.
Yup. These are the chaos in my life right now. Total madness. I can't breathe.
