Rainy Sunday Morning
It is a rainy Sunday morning. I didn't feel like waking up but my dad knocked on the door so loudly that once I opened my eyes, I couldn't go back to sleep - even with the rainy weather which is so condusive for sleeping. xO
Oh well, never mind. I'll just start on my VCDs a little earlier than usual then. Haha.
I went for a short jog yesterday evening. It was terrible - just 2 rounds around my neighbourhood and I was already feeling faint. I couldn't breathe at one point and nearly freaked out. I had to force myself to continue walking at a brisk pace even after I stopped jogging. How dreadfully unfit I've become after 3 years of not exercising! Okay, 3 years is quite a long period of time if we talk about staying fit. I think it'll take me forever to lose 10kg, so I'm going to cut down on my food intake as well.
Grrr... that's what I've always been telling myself. But when the time comes for me to eat, I eat too much! =(
Sigh. What a boring day it's going to be. I've asked Cheryl if she's keen to go for KTV. But now that it's raining, I'm feeling too lazy to leave the house. ;b Anyway, it's still not confirmed at this point.
Hm, I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow morning though. Imran will be conducting a tennis lesson for some of us at 8am. Woo! I can't wait! I can finally learn from a professional coach FOC! I'm not too sure if it's going to be a one-off lesson. Even if it is, I'll just try my best to learn as much as I can.
Alright, I've had enough of blogging for now. Adios!

First Day Of The June Holiday
I had to wake up early for once on a Saturday. How ironical - because it's actually the first day of the June holiday. I had to be up early for a workshop at 9am. Anyway, I was 10 minutes late. The workshop was really interesting though. It helped me to know more about my own personality and how I can make lessons more interesting for my pupils once I know their personalities.
After the workshop, I walked to Plaza Singapura to wait for Pikie. Lo and behold! I saw Eddie and Yong Seing beside the bus stop working (giving out pamphlets). I chatted with them for about 20 minutes. It was really good to see them. They still looked the same, but sounded more stressed over their studies at NYP.
By the time Pikie arrived at 1.30pm (super late!), we had a very rushed lunch before hurrying over to The Cathay for X-Men III: The Last Stand. We made it in good time - they were still airing the advertisments when we reached our seats in theatre 1. It was huge - reminded me of Lido's theatre 1, but definitely a lot nicer. The movie was alright. I don't know why but I was cringing quite a bit throughout the movie - and I'm seldom like that when I watch movies. Hahaha... Anyway, to those who have not seen the movie, DO NOT leave the theatre until the credits are over. There's something really brief after the credits. ;P
We went to eat ice-creams at Ben & Jerry after that. I shared 2 scoops of 2 chocolate flavours with Jocelyn the first time I was there. This time, I had the cookies and cream. It was a tad too sweet, but I quite enjoyed it. Alright, no more ice-creams for the next two weeks at least.
I shall go jogging later this evening. *peers at the sky hopefully* I hope it doesn't rain. It looks a bit gloomy up there at the moment, but the weather is cool enough for a jog, I think.
My parents are leaving the house now for X-Men III at Lido. Hahaha. Cute, hah? An old couple watching an action movie. Oh well. I'm not sure if they'll enjoy it. I think they will - with all the special effects in the movie.
I think I'll end my entry for today here. It's going to be a rather quiet evening for me tonight.

Falling Over The Edge
I'll be leaving the house in a bit to watch Over The Hedge with Cheryl and some ex-pupils.
Even though it's the last day of school, it was a horrible day. There were just too many administrative matters to handle. Honestly, it's been quite bad this first half of the year. Many a times, I felt as if I was falling over the edge. -_-
Anyway, I was all ready to be a slob and mope the whole night the minute I reached home - that is, until Cheryl called to ask if I was interested to catch the movie. I thought, what the heck - why not? Maybe some cartoon could lighten up my mood a bit.
Hm, I need to go KTV soon too. Anyone free and willing to hear my shrieks and wails?
No?
I thought so. Bah.

Back From MIA
I haven't blogged for the past week. I was MIA for a short period of time. Well, at least where blogging is concerned.
Anyway, I had completed all the marking about a week ago. After that, I started on my VCDs marathon. I also finished all the three HK serials which I'd bought two weeks ago. Sigh! What madness, eh? But the three serials I'd bought were really nice. I couldn't stop watching until I finished the last episode for each of them. ;p
I saw MI3 too. It wasn't too bad. Unfortunately I didn't feel too good after the movie because the seat I had was too close to the screen (3rd row from the front). Some of the scenes were rather 'shaky'. All the explosions gave me headache after a while. But I thought the movie was alright - in terms of plot.
I can't wait for the June holidays. Then again, I think I'm going to be bored to death. Anyway, I'm supposed to continue with my driving lessons. YAH, I haven't contacted my driving instructor for lesson. Bah. Some procrastination.
Anyway, I'm not really in the mood for blogging lately. So, that's all, folks!

On A Vegetating Mode
I must confess: I'm bored. I'm utterly sick of marking English essays. I tried to mark after dinner. I did. I really did. I couldn't get past more then two scripts. I finally gave up and went to Poh Kim to indulge in some VCD-shopping. As usual I went crazy and splurged on two HK serials and two movies.
Pool was alright today. I played it with Pikie after lunch. I haven't played it since... I forgot. She said I'd improved. I said it was all fluke. Hahahah. I realized some time ago a good part of the game is all about aiming accurately (the angle at which to hit the ball) and I'm just not very good at aiming. Plus I tend to be very impatient and reckless. LOL.
Anyway, I suppose that's enough recreation for the long weekend. In the next two days I'll have to complete the entire stack of marking. Then the following two days, I'll have to grade 3H's PowerPoint slides for CME, some other crap for PPR2 and all the administrative reports for the pupils' report books.
And then, finally, on Wednesday I can REST... because there's NO SCHOOL! La la la... After the marking marathon, I can finally start on my VCD marathon. Wahahahah!!!
Meanwhile, I'm just going to continue vegetating tonight - for the sake of my sanity. =D

Who Says Handwriting Isn't Important?
I got this via email. It really tickled me. x)

Now we know why our teachers used to scream at us to write properly. And now why we, as teachers, scream at our pupils to do the same thing.

Gibberish Paradox
Alright, I know I haven't blogged for quite a while. I didn't feel like blogging. In fact, I was wondering if I should just delete this entire blog. Just the other day, I was telling a couple of people that I was going to call it quits here. There are many things I want to blog about here but honestly, no matter what people say about freedom of speech, it doesn't really happen that way here.
As we enjoy our freedom, we're to be really careful about what we say lest we should offend anyone out there. How paradoxical. That's really life, isn't it? Freedom and independence come with much responsibilities. We can't really do what we want and get away with it. It just comes back to you one way or another.
Hahaha. Okay, I have absolutely no idea what I'm blogging about. Let's just say my brain is partially damaged after marking 60 examination scripts. I still have another 40 scripts to plough through and the deadline is TODAY. Hahahah. I guess that means I won't be sleeping at all.
Honestly, paradoxical or not, I'm just going to spew my piece here. Hello, it's MY blog. (Scary eh, I'm starting to sound like some of my students. HAHA.)
Well, I guess most EL teachers should be able to finish marking our examination scripts since our papers were conducted like end of APRIL. The big, fat problem is... many of us were still trying to finish our marking for PPR2. So we couldn't really start marking on the EL examination scripts even though we could actually start marking them on 28th April. And on top of all the crappy marking (believe me, the quality of the essays are really horrendous!), we still have to vet our fellow colleagues' remarks on their form classes. I mean, why must EL teachers get all the 'dirty' job of editing - just because we're supposedly good in the language? No offence, but I think it's just double work for us. I think I'm marking so much BAD English that I don't have time to read any GOOD English simply because when I don't mark, I want to sleep or listen to music or do something that doesn't require much brainwork. DUH.
So, my brain is degenerating here basically.
Come to think of it, this year's Term 2 was supposed to be less hectic than those in the past years. Our Speech Day this year will be in Term 3, so we should actually have MORE TIME to complete our PPR marking. Unfortunately, I don't know why it didn't happen that way. Somehow, things weren't any less hectic.
I guess the only explanation I have is we're all getting tired. We're having a burn-out probably. Either that or suddenly everyone is having attitude problems - teachers and pupils alike. HAH. Possible or not? Shrugs... I really don't know.
All I know is... I'm tired of marking and I'm typing GIBBERISH!!!!!!
