Why Am I In School Today?! -madness or boredom-
You may call me mad. Yeah, I'm in school now because I need to prepare some stuffs for EL remedial. Sigh. And the remedial sessions start tomorrow! Seeing different groups of people at different time slots. Am I killing myself or what? Heh. Sigh. What to do? Difference in standard and learning abilities. No choice.
Oh yeah, saw one of the church youths - Wanxuan - on my way to work. She was on her way to school for badminton practice.
La la la...
Right, I'm doing anything and everything else except preparing for the remedials. Hoohoo!
I'm listening to The Christmas Song by Celine Dion now. And it's not even Christmas. *diowng* o_O
Ah, if only it's Christmas everyday... snow snow snow in Singapore... snow is just so so so so so christmassy - don't you think? Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the wayyyyyyyyyy!!!
I think I'm either very bored or have gone mad.
Okay, okay. It's time to start work!!! xB

My Beloved iPod Mini
I met up with Mag after work today. We went Crystal Jade at Far East Plaza to eat again. Haha. Or rather, I ate my lunch while she drank a bowl of almond cream or something. I had the onion oil noodles and long beans with shredded pork (which was quite shiok because it was spicy and savoury).
After that, we walked around, looking at bags and shoes. I couldn't get the pink version of the pair of black-white C&K shoes I bought a few weeks back. Sigh. Sad. They don't have my size. Oh well.
I've been busy downloading songs into my beloved apple-green iPod mini. Haha. I've got like 400plus songs inside now. Some are crap, but it doesn't matter. Hopefully with the iPod mini, I'll take less rides from cabs and more with the buses. Hohohoh. I bring it wherever I go now.
Let's see, what 'crap' I have... classicals (Charlotte Church, whose songs Pikie labels as ghastly, and instrumentals), R&B, light rock (er, no heavy clanging for me), soundtracks, LOTS of Mandarin pop (mainly Coco Lee, Stefanie Sun, Sandy Lam, Sammi Cheng, David Tao), gospels and jazz. Yum yum. I plan to download some more. Maybe I should have bought the iPod instead of the mini. Hoo!

Wacky Weather
The weather is really wacky lately. I hate it. Being located so near to the equator, I suppose Singapore is probably experiencing the worst kind of weather these few months.
When it's hot, it's really scorching. The worst thing is the air is humid - as if Heaven can't quite decide to bless Earth with rain or not. And then, when it finally rains, it pours in terrific torrentials - as if there were no tomorrow.
Sometimes, I wonder if we'll get to see a part 2 of The Great Flood back in Noah's era. But of course, there's always the good old rainbow to assure us. Then again, we haven't seen many rainbows lately. Or rather, I haven't. Boo hoo.
Perhaps I'm too closed-up in my own world to see anything else. That's bad. Argh. Blame the marking, blame the marking. Yeah, I can always blame anything or anyone except myself. Not good. Not good at all. *bleahs*
The land is parched and thirsty... Bless the world with Thy rain, Lord!

Marking Marathon OVER!
The past 10 days or so have been terrible - except for the great company (Cheryl and Pei Chin, and the few pupils who dropped by to pay us a visit - Pit Kun, Keith, Zhen'ai and Amanda).
We marked and we fell ill. First, it was Pei Chin. Next, it was me. And now, Cheryl's on MC.
Marking examination scripts is an awful business.
Nothing much to say except THANK GOD IT'S ALL OVER!!!!!

Marking Maniac, Food Fanatic, Gym Geek
Alright, I'm back after being out the entire afternoon. x)
Let's see... I went Outback Steakhouse at Millenia Walk with my family. The food was nice! I love the appetisers - deep fried mushrooms with white sauce! Sinfully yummy! After lunch, my parents dropped me off at Orchard MRT Station. I had arranged to meet Mag earlier at Paragon, but due to the jam I went to the station instead. I went to the Popular bookshop there and met Pikie, who was buying a lot of guidebooks. Mag came a while later.
We went to BreadTalk and left Pikie to buy her food to go to Charles & Keith because I needed to buy a pair of heeled shoes desperately for work. I can't always be wearing the pair of Everbest white loafers. Hoho. I finally bought a pair after taking a bit of time to decide whether it was more practical to get black-and-white or pink-and-white. I'd have loved to buy the latter pair, but I don't have many matching clothes for them. Hm. I may buy them though once I get my pay for this month. Haha. Is this retail therapy or what?
After that Mag and I went over to Paragon. She wanted to get her eyebrows trimmed at Hollywood Secrets. When we neared the place, I vaguely noticed a couple walking in our direction. As Mag and I were moving out of their path, I realised the guy was waving at me. I took a second glance and realised he was Samuel! Haha! We were so surprised to see him. Ah, yes - he was with his girlfriend who's also going to be a fellow colleague. We yakked for a while before parting ways. Anyway, it was good to see him again in person. (Haha... he's often online on MSN too.)
We went Hollywood Secrets and I waited for Mag to get her eyebrows done. After that, we went to Ding Tai Feng for tea. We ordered a tiny plate of pickled vegetables, garlic spinach and xiao long bao. While we ate, we talked and talked... for almost about one and a half hours I think. We left at around 5.30pm and on our way to take our respective transport, I suddenly realised my box of new shoes wasn't with me! Mag realised that in fact I didn't have it with me when we were eating at Ding Tai Feng even. So I went all the way back to Hollywood Secrets. Thankfully, my shoes were there! Thank goodness no customer saw my shoes first and claimed that they belonged to her. :B
I took a cab home after waiting at the taxi queue at Takashimaya - long queue, but fast. It'll be dinner soon. I've been eating so much yesterday and today that I really need a vigorous workout at the gym.
Hm... I think this is what I'm going to do after school and church this week:
Monday: Mark - Gym (treadmill with Esther) - Light dinner - Mark
Tuesday: Mark - Gym (Body Combat with Gina and company) - Light dinner - Mark
Wednesday: Mark - Gym (depending on whether my muscles are still working after Tuesday's workout... hoho) - Light dinner - Mark
Thursday: Mark - Gym (ditto) - Light dinner - Mark
Friday: Mark - Gym (Body Pump) - Light dinner - Mark
Saturday: Mark, mark, mark!!!
Sunday: Light lunch - Gym (Body Combat with Gina and company) - Mark
Hoho. Am I crazy or am I crazy?

La la la...
Till I blog again... God bless!

Welcoming Rain
For once, I like the rain. Haha. Yeah, after such a long spell of scorching heat and drowning humidity...
Last night after ID service, we went over to Kris' place for an early birthday celebration for Mag and Kris. We had self-made popiahs, fried chicken wings, fried onion wings, fried chicken nuggets (heart-shaped ones!) and a huge chocolate cake from Crystal Jade. Haha. Super sinful food. The only healthy one was probably the popiahs we rolled for ourselves as we ate. Gina attempted to make a 'dumpling' and tied the whole thing up with an onion ring. It was huge. Poor Joey. Haha. x)
It was a crazy gathering for once. We played number game. The forfeit was that the loser of each round had to eat whatever was given to him/her. It was hilarious. During one round, Mag who was the 2nd guesser accurately guessed the number! Haha! The best thing was, Gina finally lost one round - she can't claim that she has never lost anymore. La la la... Anyway, that was the final round because we'd achieved our goal. And it wasn't even a case of sabotage. Haw haw haw.
Oops, anyway I gotta run. Mother's Day lunch! =)~~~

A Crazy Week So Far
After a long, lo-OO-ong weekend, work this week has been utterly crazy. So much for Labour Day as a public holiday. One has to double one's labour after the short break. Oh well, it can't be helped I guess.
Sunday (1st)
Church was fine. We went Thomson Plaza for lunch with Kris' classmate. After that we went to Bishan Junction 8 where Kris and I shopped. She bought some stuffs. I bought nothing - couldn't find shoes for work.
After that Gina and I went to town to meet up with Jann and shopped some more. I bought a pair of Everbest white loafers ($59) which I wore on the spot and threw away my old slippers.
We had dinner at Far East Plaza's Sakura (nice food!!!) after which we shopped some more at Wisma, where I bought a Nike sports bag ($43 after 15% discount).
Monday (2nd)
I met Esther for a body pump workout at Planet Fitness (Far East Square branch). By the time the class ended, I felt so wobbly I couldn't walk down the stairs properly. The ache didn't feel really bad right after the workout. I felt like I could still carry my stuffs normally albeit walking was a bit unsteady.
Tuesday (3rd)
I was supposed to meet Kris at 3.30pm at her optimetrist to make a new pair of spectacles. In the end, I couldn't make it. Lessons ended late at around 2.10pm and there was just too much paper work to complete. On top of that, I had to prepare the Sec 4NA and 4NT's Oral Preliminary Exam for the following day. By the time I left school, it was 6.30pm. I was dead tired.
Wednesday (4th)
Another horrible day. I had to look to the seating arrangements for the oral examination at the hall and -somehow- the school servants didn't quite understand my diagram. Hello, I got an A1 for Art back in secondary school yah. Okay, fine. Even though it wasn't the aesthetic sort of art piece, I thought the seating plan I sketched out made a lot of sense. So I spent quite a while trying to get my point across to them, sacrificing precious marking time for the common good.
The oral examination started at around 2.15pm. I nearly cried. The first session took up nearly 2 hours! My group ended late because, halfway through the examination, I had to stomp over to the waiting area to shut some talkative pupils up. It never ceases to amaze me how inconsiderate teenagers can be these days. I don't claim to be a perfect person myself, but I think the least anyone could do in that situation was to be quiet and prepare themselves for the examination. Sometimes, I wonder what's in their heads. Air, perhaps?
Okay, that was evil. Right. Like I said, I'm not perfect.
The second session went much better. I enjoyed my conversations with the girls. Somehow, being seated further away from the NOISY ones made a vast difference to one's state of mental health. Hence, I was a lot more generous with the marks, I think. But honestly the girls were better, generous or not.
So, I left school again at 6.30pm. I felt that I needed a shower badly. Unfortunately, the school was closing and I had to meet Gina in town to get some stuffs. If I went home, it was highly unlikely that I would come out again. So I called Pikie and asked if I could use her bathroom... couldn't wait to wash off all the irritation I felt over the entire day!
After that, I met Gina who was with Alicia. We had a late dinner, after which we went over to Orchard Cineleisure to chat a bit before going home.
Today...
The English Language papers started today. My invigilation schedule was bad. I had to invigilate from 8.20am to 9.41am. After collecting the papers and sending them down to the conference room, I went through the mock exam paper 2 very briefly with Jessica, Eugene Ong and Erwin. Before I could even go to the ladies, it was time to collect the papers for the second paper and start invigilating, which ended at around 11.15pm. Thereafter, I quickly rushed to the ladies and finally went to buy some food to eat. Some morning.
Things were better after that. We still had normal lessons. I'm still in school now because it's pouring cats and dogs. Sigh. Tired.
I'm signing off. Choo choo.
