Psalm 51
I came back from movie and dinner not too long ago. I watched Wimbledon with Mag and Lena and Gina joined us for dinner later at Paragon's Spaggedies.
Anyway, I was reading Psalm 51 in the bible. I was feeling rather down and somehow this chapter articulated exactly how I felt.
My mood swings are dangerously extreme lately - either overly ecstatic or terribly depressed. I hope I'm not going crazy. ;(
There's nothing much to blog for today. Oh, actually, Christopher Michael Lee (of Singapore Idol) came to QTSS this afternoon. He was an ex-student. It was like an interview-cum-monologue session really. There were moments of awkwardness because the emcees didn't know what to say or ask next, and Christopher himself kept saying he was nervous. I guess he really was because he was rambling on and on.
After the 'interview' session, there was an autograph-signing session. Hordes of young girls asked for his signature. We had to wait for quite a while before we could start with the Graduation Day rehearsal, which was scheduled to start at 2.30pm. We started late of course but the teachers wrapped up our items by 3.30pm or so.
Then I headed towards town to meet Mag and Lena for the movie, which was quite nice. I went to watch it without any expectations and was pleasantly rewarded. I enjoyed the witty conversations mostly because of the British accent. The English has humour that's both wry and dry. Haha...
Alright, I'm tired. I shall stop here.

Hoarse
My throat's hoarse. Argh! After worship service yesterday morning, we had jamming from 2-5pm too. I've probably over-exerted. Thank God, there's no pain though. Please let it remain that way otherwise I'll be in big trouble on Friday.
Jamming was pretty fun yesterday. I tried playing the guitar and drums. Ha, simply whacked whatever I could remember from my past training. Basically, it was crap. But, hey, I enjoyed it. Quite happy that Mag and Fungling enjoyed it too. Ehm, don't know about the rest though. ;o Anyway, since it was our first jamming time together, I shouldn't ask for too much eh? Wish I could have a go on the keyboard. I haven't been playing for the past decade. ;o
After jamming, Gina, Fungling and I went to McDonald to snack a little. We ate and talked. Mag came a while later. We snacked so much that my stomach didn't have room for dinner. ;p After eating, Mag and I went down to Pikie's place to eat some more. We gave Gina a lift as she was going home for dinner. Actually I didn't eat anymore. Just drank the Campbell mushroom soup which Mag bought before we left AMK.
At Pikie's place, we ate (okay, I drank soup only) and watched The Mask on Channel 5. It was quite funny, but somehow wasn't as funny as the time when I first watched it. Gina called Mag's handphone halfway through the movie and Pikie spoke to Shannon for a while. After that I took the phone and tried talking to Shannon. Aiyoooooooooo... she didn't say much, just kept saying "good night" to me. Here's the, erhm, conversation:
Me: Shannon? Hello, Shannon?
Shannon: Hello...
Me: Shannon ah, call 'jeh jeh'. (Dialect for 'jie jie' or 'sister'.)
Shannon: Mmmh.. GiNA jeh jeh...
Me: No, no. Shannon, call ME 'jeh jeh'.
Shannon: ...
Me: Hello, Shannon? Call 'jeh jeh' leh.
Shannon: Jeh jeh.. Good night!
Me: No, Shannon. No good night lah. Talk to jeh jeh lah.
Shannon: ...
Me: Shannon?
Shannon: Good night.
Me: Good morning!
Shannon: Mmmh.. Good mornie...
Me: Ok, now say 'good afternoon'.
Shannon: Huh?
Me: Say 'good afternoon'... 'g-oo-d af-ter-n-oo-n'.
Shannon: Ummh... good night!
Me: Shannon, no! Wait! Wait!
Haha... this went on for quite a while until she finally handed the phone over to Gina. *LOL* Gina eh, your Ah Mui was really very *fwarnie*. Aiyah, I haven't seen her for so long. When will you be bringing her to Mdm Au's place again eh? I really want to see her and Ah Ni play and talk together. Then I'll bring my digital camera and snap their pictures away! Wahahah!
Anyway, yeah, that was about it for yesterday. Oh, I had a slight headache after watching the movie and decided to nap a little. Unfortunately, the headache didn't go away but worsened. Thanks to Mag and Pikie, otherwise I would probably still be lying on the bed now. But, Pikie, I don't see how the Pooh Bear could have woken me up from my deep slumber. (Mag, told me you put it there to wake me up.) Most bizarre.
Hm, the bell has just gone off. I think I'd better go grab some food before Talentime later. It's going to last for quite a while into the afternoon. Oh gosh, now I can't. Mabel just reminded me to key in the attendance for the pupils for Semester 2 into the Cockpit system. Bleah.

Done With Marking At Last!
I just had dinner and was watching the 7pm 喜玲门 at the same time. I left school with Shyama at 6pm and I went to Tanglin Mall's Market Place to get some groceries. My parents will be back from Langkawi tonight, so my brother reminded me to buy some bread home.
I'm finally done marking! I've never marked so fast and furiously before - 4 sets of papers all done within a day! 'Tis just madness. ;o
Yeah, well, sacrificed my lessons with 4E and 3H to mark, mark and mark. They're in no mood for studying anyway. Now that I'm done with my marking, I gotta crack my brains to come up with activities during lesson. I'm absolutely SICK of compositions and comprehensions!
I was just asking a couple of them in 4E what they would want to do during lessons, now that their N-Level is over. I think some said they wanted to watch VCD. Hm. Er, what VCD to get huh?
I'm feeling kinda bored now that I have nothing to do. Not that I really have nothing to do, but it's such a *rare* moment to be able to have finished all my marking... so much so that I'm feeling kinda lost now. ;o
I wish my guitar was working. Sigh. One of the strings broke and I haven't been able to play for over a year and now the instrument is collecting dust.
Speaking of which, I'd just packed my table yesterday after shopping in the afternoon. My room is a lot less messy so I'm pretty happy about it. I wonder how I can get rid of my old laptop though. I can't very well just dump it into the bin. My dad will throw a fit. ;B
Oh well, I'll think about that another time.
Hm, what shall I do tomorrow? I only have 3 teaching periods tomorrow. I guess I'll just start on 4E's testimonials then so that I can finish everything by next week, which is the deadline. I'll probably leave school on the dot too. There's prophesy class in the evening at church. I'm quite torn because there's also worship practice. I'm supposed to be serving this coming Sunday. I just received a forwarded email attached with the songs. Hm, there is one unfamiliar song. I suspect it's from one of the newer Hillsongs' albums... so I'd better hunt for it later.
I'm wondering if I should pick up piano again. Joey just brought me to Suntec to have a trial lesson with the instructor and I'm pretty interested. They'll be teaching her improvisation... how to play the same song in different ways, plus other stuffs. The fee is rather reasonable too - $105 for 4 lessons, excluding registration fees. The only thing that is holding me back is that it's not Christian-based. I'm keen on drums too. Haha. Mad, eh? Gina's continuing so I'm wondering if I should too. And there's the guitar. And vocals. ARGH! So many things to learn but so little time and money! I think I shall pray about it first.
Oh, I think my brother's back. I hear noises from the living room, as if some one has switched on the television set.
Alright, I think I shall stop blogging for now. Nothing much to type anymore... I seem to be getting lethargic. Must be the dinner.

Marking... *UGH!*
Okay, I'm -still- marking, but no longer English scripts. PRAISE THE LORD! I'm done with the English stuffs... er, except the test papers. ;p I'm almost halfway done with the CPA ones. It's really -boring- marking the same stuffs over and over. Sigh.
I was supposed to go marking with Cheryl after the tea with Yani. Well, I didn't eventually... decided to stay in school and mark. The tea with Yani was pretty alright. Fruitful, I should say. I'm just wondering if the things mentioned would materialize. I won't mention what they are in case they don't. Plus it's kinda confidential... not just on my own stuffs if you know what I mean. ;p
Yap gave me a packet of beehoon while I was having my bowl noodles lunchie. So pathetic, eh? Thank goodness for the beehoon. Probably eating that in a while because I'm starting to feel hungry.
Speaking of which, maybe I shouldn't eat so much. Sigh. The NKF check-up was finally here this morning. We had blood test and all. They took my height and weight. OH MY! I've positively SHRUNK vertically and EXPANDED horizontally. Yeah, all in all, I've gained 12kg since I came to teach. *HOWLZ* Miraculously, my blood pressure is still normal and my cholesterol level is still within the normal range. But I was advised to -start- exercising before my weight hits a critical level. Haiyoh, can join the kids at TAF Club already lah. *sniff* Pei Chin was so kind; she said that I didn't look like I'd gained 12kg. Maybe I have heavy bones. Yeah, right. I wish. ;o
Anyway, I still have to eat. I can't very well get gastric. Useless stomach. *hmph* I must start training it to consume less food. I was just talking about shrinking the stomach with Cindy last Sunday. Apparently, it's possible when one doesn't eat 100% full, slowing training the stomach to take in less and it'll slowly shrink. I'll just have to do that.
I'm listening to Stephanie Sun's 害怕 on the laptop now. Emotive song... as most ballads are.
I'm enjoying Joi Chua's debut album 陪我看日出 Sunrise. The songs are really melodious in this album. It's so -rare- to hear someone actually -sing- nowadays. ;p
Speaking of which, I'll be going for KTV later. So much for marking. Ha! But, hey, all work and no play makes one dull. I don't want to be duller than I already am. D-d-duhhh...
Okay, I'd better get back to marking. I'd wanna finish as many scripts as I can before I have some fun.
*gape* Just found out Cheryl's still in school. She just walked out of the HOD Room. Haha. I thought she'd left at 2pm. Anyway, signing off...

BLANK
Try as I might, I just couldn't continue marking the English papers! Gosh, and tomorrow's the deadline! I simply hate deadlines. :( Yet, without them, I cannot get anything done. Sigh. So wretched.
The 4NA classes are finally done with their N-Levels. I'm sure they're all hopping crazy and running amok by now. Heh. Well, they've certainly been stressed out over the past few weeks, perhaps even months for some of them. I wonder how many of them will return for their O-Levels next year...
I'm feeling kinda sleepy. That's what work and food do to you if you get too much of them (either one or both). Perhaps I should take a quick shower...
I'm wondering what kind of day it'll be for me tomorrow. I'm down for CPA practical invigilation. It's the worst ever kind of invigilation. I had to do it for the 3NT last Thursday and, despite wearing flat-heeled shoes, my feet have been hurting ever since. There were so many hiccups with the system. I had to run back and forth the 2 labs, and up and down to and from the staff room. I pray and hope tomorrow's will be better with the lower secondary. Mabel Goh was telling me how many of them were late today and there was some kind of delay. Great. Just what I need to know.
I suspect I'll probably be marking furiously after that since the EL marks are supposed to be due for submission tomorrow. Probably do marking in school until the school closes at 6pm. Then I'll probably head down to church for the prophesy class. Oh, I must remember to pay the fees then. It'll be ongoing for the next 8 weeks.
Okay, that's it. I'm stopping here. Blog another day.
