Bad Throat
I tried to blog last week using the dinosaur laptop in my room. Of course, I lost everything when I tried to publish the blog. *sigh*
Anyway, here I am back to blog again.
I lost my voice. It started with my usual nose problem on Tuesday or Wednesday... I can't remember. Well, I started to have fever and all. Then throat condition worsened on Thursday and I had to inform Sam that I wasn't able to take worship leading on Sunday. He said that he was extremely busy but if there's no choice, he'd do it somehow. It made me feel bad about falling ill.
Anyway, my throat got worse on Saturday. I thought I was getting better, so I treated myself to some kaya toasts. Lo and behold, within the next 15 minutes, half of my voice was gone. :O Was this YAFI or what? (YAFI = You Asked For It. In this case, of course *I* asked for it. Sigh.)
I didn't go down to church at all today. I finally went to see the doctor. He said I had fever and gave me all kinds of tablets, including anti-biotics and a bottle of cough mixture. Yuck!!!!!
After that, I came back home, took the medication and slept for a while before lunch. My mom cooked pasta AGAIN. I'm really sick of pasta. I've been eating it almost everyday for the whole of last week.
After lunch, I slept, woke up and bathed. Then I came online to check email and blogged a little.
I wonder what I can do this coming week without my voice. I was planning on getting the SK-II mask with Pit Kun on Monday, but without my voice, how am I to speak to the salesperson at the counter? Sigh. Then for Tuesday, I was thinking of meeting Pei Chin to discuss about the SOW for Sec 4NA's EL syllabus. Without my voice, how to discuss? :O I hope my voice will return by Wednesday. I'm hoping to go to Yvonne to colour my hair with Mag.
Oh well... see how it goes. If my voice is still not back, I suppose I'll just vegetate at home till it returns. :O
Signing off... *vrrrroooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmz*

Back Blogging After 2 Months
OK. It's been almost 2 months since I last blogged. I've been tied up with work, especially in October, with all the marking of exam scripts and administrative work.
I'm doing O level invigilation duties now at St Teresa's Convent. I've been rotting at Pit Kun's place most of the time over the past 1.5 weeks. She's gone to HK for about 6 days. I miss the kid. I hope she's having fun there shopping and eating though.
I will be leading worship tomorrow again for the English service. I can't say I'm feeling good about leading worship. I always get so stressed up preparing the songs. Sigh. The past weeks (when I had to lead worship), I slept at 3am Sunday morning... and woke up at 7am to rush down to church by 7.30am via cab.
This week's a bit better - thanks to Song En. He called me up on Thursday night to ask me if there was worship practice on Saturday. I told him that I haven't even gotten the songs out and said that I would inform everyone by Friday night if I could get the songs out in time. Friday came and he called me again. I was preparing worship and I missed 2 of his calls. When I answered the 3rd call he made, he asked me the same question: any worship practice on Saturday? Even though my preparation was incomplete, I had to tell him 'yes'... and by faith, declared practice to start at 11am.
Anyway, we started practice late because Sam was late. He called me at around 10.50am to say that he'd be late as he was still at home. I didn't ask why. I told him to take his time to get to church. Well, only Song En and Mag were around in church then. Elaine was late too. I met Mag at McDonald's to buy breakfast, then walk to church to eat our food. She was raving and ranting about this live band performing at one of the pubs in Chijmes, and mentioned that our worship team doesn't seem to possess even half of the passion displayed by that band! I thought that was a bit too harsh.
Still, I think there's some truth to it. Probably it's because most of the worship team members aren't the super out-going sort? *shrug* I have no idea.
Sigh... Sam just messaged to say he wouldn't put Above All in between the songs Made Me Glad and Reaching For You. It means I gotta make changes again? Such a headache preparing for worship.
Actually, I think he's right. The songs don't quite flow in terms of theme. Oh well, guess I'll just have to go and sieve through the song books for more appropriate songs. :O
Till I blog again...
