Church Anniversary
It's been 3 days since Church Anniversary celebrations at MGS. Although there were hiccups in our performances (drama, dances, worship, etc), we did our best.
The only thing I felt wasted was... there were many people who bought the tickets but were unable to turn up eventually. Perhaps the church anniversary team didn't pray hard enough as a whole.
Over all though, it has been a great experience. I really thank God for blessing us with brother Chern Ye and sister Cassandra from FCBC. They took time off to choreograph and taught us the dance steps especially Chern Ye. He lives in one of the NUS halls, very far away from AMK, but was still so willing to come down to our church to teach us. He even roped in another sister (Poh Yen) to help out. Thanks to Wendy too. If not for her, we'd probably not know the 3 of them.
It's been a challenging past 3.5 months, but the efforts were not in vain. Indeed, to be able to give our all to God is not just when we're performing on stage, but to give the best even in our work, or the little mundane stuffs in our lives. We're living for our Lord Jesus Christ!
I guess living a life of worship is easier said than done. That's why we gotta constantly ask for God's grace and mercy to be upon us... and for the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse us. It's a daily thing.
I've known all these things... but somehow, it's something that came back to me after this trying period of time.
I watched Forbidden City: Portrait of an Empress last night at Esplanade, starring Kit Chan. As usual, she was brilliant... her singing prowess. I wish I could sing like that. *sigh*
I have emailed Rebecca Yam about vocal training for Jann and I, but she hasn't replied me. I wonder why. I sure hope to receive a favourable reply from her. I'm even prepared to take vocal exams!
OK, I think I should stop blogging for now. It's time to set exam papers. God, I pray that You grant me efficiency and creativity in setting the CPA papers. Thank You!!! In Your Precious Son, Jesus' name, AMEN.

Terribly Hectic
We had our first full-dressed rehearsal at MGS last night. It was a total chaos!!! I think most of us were not serious enough... and we wasted quite a lot of time preparing and waiting for people to turn up. Sigh!
I realise I've missed being at home, having been out every night for the past 2 weeks! My dad just told me this morning, before I left for work, that my mom hasn't been able to see much of me lately.
So cute... my parents actually went to watch movie last night. Haha...
I managed to finish setting an examination paper today. I'm left with the CPA papers. Sigh. It's no easy task to set CPA papers. I doubt I can even get started by the end of this week.
There's another full-dressed rehearsal coming up this Sunday. I heard Chern Ye will be coming at 2pm. He'll probably brief the drama people abt their roles, while the dancers have a meeting. Joce has asked Gina and I to chair the meeting - some sort of a debrief for last night's rehearsal.
Oh yeh, I still have to email William about his part as the emcee. I think I'll do it tomorrow. He's not in Singapore anyway. Hm, that should buy me some time to think about what to brief him about his role.
Right... I'm tired. It's funny because I haven't been out much today, except to school - unlike the past few days when I'd been running all over town and could still go to bed in the wee hours of the morning. I guess this is called 'getting old'. Hoho. Oh well, probably a cummulative effect from the past few days' hectic schedules.
I'll blog again another time. Au revoir.

Teacher's Day 2003
Konnichiwa! It's Teacher's Day today. Read: NO SCHOOL! Muahahah!!! For once, I can wake up to have the sun shining on my face.
The school staff had a short retreat at Sentosa from Friday to Saturday. The dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday were good! I stuffed myself silly with food during both meals especially the breakfast. I had a good time catching up with Shyama too. Even though we sit beside each other in the staffroom and see each other everyday, it's not easy to find time to chit-chat. I really miss those days when Belle, Jane, Shyama and I sat down together to discuss our lesson planning and how to teach the Sec 2 Express pupils in 2000.
I was really surprised to receive a card from Yizhou on Friday too. Haha... He's really changed since Secondary 2. It's really quite funny how things worked out. That year, we had a confrontation, I remember. He insulted me... called me names and I was so mad that I declared him a "scum of the earth" and hauled him out of his seat by his hair! Oh my, up till now, he still remembers that. But I remember right after having that confrontation with him, I made it a point to talk/counsel him. Thank God, he was willing to listen. I remember giving him a pat on his head - my way of saying sorry for pulling him by the hair. :O
Anyway, after that, he was pretty okay with me. We could even chat in IRC. He's a nice kid really. I guess most kids are especially if teachers approach them in the right way and from the right direction. Heh.
OK, I gotta go. I'm meeting Pit Kun for lunch soon. I'm pretty famished actually. I hope she won't be too late.
